Virginia Tech’s Center for Business Analytics is pleased to announce our partnership with the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), an industry-recognized professional association for operations research and analytics. This collaboration brings a unique opportunity to the students enrolled in our Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics (MSBA-BA) degree – the chance to earn an Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP) credential from INFORMS alongside their master's degree. Virginia Tech is one of only seven universities in the world participating in this pilot program.

Students enrolled in our MSBA-BA program can choose to participate in the INFORMS aCAP Academic Pathway. Participants pay a discounted INFORMS membership fee and receive access to a 1-hour Foundations of Data Ethics course. Once these students complete the course and graduate from the MSBA-BA program, they will receive the aCAP credential.

The aCAP Academic Pathway gives our emerging analytics professionals an accelerated pathway to a respected industry certification and a membership with INFORMS.
