Jennifer Havens

Biography

Jennifer Havens is the Director of the Center for Business Analytics. A Virginia Tech alumna, Havens received a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing Management and a Master’s in Business Administration. She joined the CBA in 2023 following an adventurous career in startups, regional critical infrastructure, and large, global organizations.

She spent the first half of her career thus far in communications and marketing management, serving in environmental responsibility, high security manufacturing, biotech and software.

Jennifer spent the last decade in leadership effectiveness and development. Serving as Carilion Clinic’s inaugural Senior Director of the Institute for Leadership Effectiveness, she led a team to later achieve awards in the National Center for Healthcare Leadership. Jennifer led her own Executive Coaching and consulting firm and designed the first group coaching program within Worldwide Operations at Amazon.

 Combining business acumen, strategic consulting experience, and high-impact leadership coaching and consulting, Jennifer is building on the impact of CBA and innovating new ways of preparing CBA students to solve complex problems. Graduates of the program will develop valuable skills and behaviors in building and fostering trust, engaging in healthy conflict, leadership finesse, stakeholder strategies and influence, and self-awareness.

Jennifer is the co-author of a chapter in Proving the Value of Leadership Development: Real Studies from Top Leadership Developers, featuring the ROI of the leadership development process she founded. Havens continues to serve as a strategy consultant and Executive Coach for government, non-profit firms, and private sector firms. This continued external experience helps her bring realistic, current, and future-forward challenges to CBA students.
